Fiesta en la Calle 2014
On the evening of May 31, 2014, Cien Amigos, the Mexican Cultural Center of Northern California, and the Mexican Consulate of Sacramento hosted a free community concert at Southside Park in Sacramento. It was an opportunity to enjoy a family event that sought to raise money for Cien Amigos scholarships. In addition to great music, Sacramento MoFo offered a variety of food for purchase, with proceeds going toward the scholarships.
The concert featured the Grammy-award winning band "La Santa Cecilia." La Santa Cecilia has been an active voice in the effort to implement immigration reform in the United States and dedicated its Grammy "to the more than 11 million undocumented workers that live and work in this country."
The concert opened with La Plebe and Raúl y Mexia.
A special thank you to The California Endowment for their generous contribution to make this event possible.
